Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Koqeto is an AI dating coach operated by Trego LLC (“Koqeto”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Koqeto mobile app and the koqeto.com website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies worldwide.
The short version: your coaching conversations stay between you and your coach. We collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Trego LLC, 1209 Mountain Road PL NE, STE N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@koqeto.com.
2. Where this policy applies
It covers the Koqeto mobile app (iOS and Android) and the Koqeto website, including this page.
The website is static: it does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools.
3. What we collect
- Account data — the email address and name associated with your account. You can sign in with email, Apple or Google; if you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive a private relay address instead.
- Your coaching content — the messages you send to the coach, the images you attach to them, the scenario and details of your voice-practice sessions, transcripts of what was said, the debrief results, and the memory the coach builds about you (your level, recurring patterns and focus areas).
- Photos — images you attach are compressed on your device before upload, and their EXIF metadata, which includes location, is removed in the process. They are stored in a private storage bucket that only you can read, through short-lived access links.
- People you tell us about — if you add people from your dating life (a name and notes), we store that information to personalize your coaching.
- Purchase data — your subscription status and transaction identifiers, processed through Apple, Google and RevenueCat. We never receive your full payment details.
- Technical data — an anonymous device identifier used to enforce free usage limits before you create an account, plus IP address, app version, device model, operating system and crash reports.
- What we never collect — no advertising identifiers, no precise location, no contacts, no browsing history. The app contains no ads and no third-party trackers.
4. Your voice and AI processing
During voice practice, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to OpenAI’s speech services to transcribe what you say and to play the role of the simulated person. We do not store the audio stream — what remains is the transcript of the session and the coach’s feedback. We do not create voiceprints and we do not use your voice to identify you.
Your coaching content (messages, images and transcripts) is sent to OpenAI’s API to generate the coach’s responses. OpenAI processes it on our instructions, does not use it to train its models, and may retain it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and we do not allow anyone else to.
5. Why we use your data
- To provide the coaching service — processing your messages, images, practice sessions and memory so the coach works (performance of our contract with you).
- To create and protect your account — authentication, including sign-in with Apple or Google (contract).
- To manage your subscription — purchases, renewals and refunds (contract).
- To keep the service safe and fair — abuse prevention, rate limits and free-usage enforcement (legitimate interests).
- To fix problems — crash reports and diagnostics (legitimate interests).
- To comply with the law — for example, keeping purchase records (legal obligation).
- Microphone and photo access only happen with the permissions you grant on your device, and you can revoke them at any time in your system settings (your consent).
6. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the providers the app runs on, each under a contract that limits them to processing it on our behalf:
- Supabase — account authentication, database and private file storage.
- OpenAI — AI processing of coaching conversations, images and voice transcripts.
- RevenueCat — subscription management across the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Apple and Google — app distribution and payment processing.
- Sentry — crash reporting and diagnostics.
- Our cloud hosting provider — runs the Koqeto service that connects the app to everything above.
- We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Koqeto contains no advertising. We only disclose data to authorities when the law requires it.
7. Data about other people
Some features let you save names and notes about people in your dating life. Add only what you need for your coaching, and keep in mind that this information is about someone else. If a person wants to exercise their privacy rights over data you have added about them, they can contact us at privacy@koqeto.com.
8. How long we keep it
Your coaching content and account data are kept while your account exists.
When you delete your account — from the app’s settings or from koqeto.com/delete-account — your data is removed from our production systems immediately and from encrypted backups within 30 days. This cannot be undone.
Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
9. International transfers
Koqeto is operated from the United States, and the providers listed above may process data in the US and in other countries where they operate. Where required — for example, for users in the EEA and the UK — those transfers are safeguarded by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified, and by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy of it. Depending on where you are, you may also have:
- EEA, UK and similar regimes — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to complain to your data protection authority.
- California and other US states — the right to know, delete, correct and port your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
- To exercise any right, delete your account from the app’s settings, from koqeto.com/delete-account, or email privacy@koqeto.com. We respond within 30 days.
11. Age requirement
Koqeto is for adults: you must be at least 18 years old to use it. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
12. Security
Data travels over TLS encryption and is encrypted at rest by our database provider. Your images live in a private bucket readable only through short-lived signed links, and photo metadata (including location) is stripped on your device before anything is uploaded. Access to personal data inside Koqeto is limited by role and by need. No system is perfectly secure, but we design ours to make a breach as hard as we can.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page with a new “last updated” date. If a change is material — for example, a new data category or provider — we will also notify you inside the app before it takes effect.
